How to make Peanut Butter

There is nothing like fresh peanut butter. You can also do this with other nuts too! You may have to adjust the taste if you want it saltier or sweeter. Fresh makes the difference in taste for peanut butter icings!

Ingredients:
  • 15 ounces shelled and skinned Spanish roasted peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons peanut oil

Directions:
  1. Place the peanuts, salt and honey into the bowl of a food processor. Process for 1 minute.
  2. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  3. Place the lid back on and continue to process while slowly drizzling in the oil and process until the mixture is smooth, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
  4. Place the peanut butter in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.

  1. Oli,
The addition of honey to your peanut butter is a great idea. I do like my peanut butter and feel too guilty to add sugar. Inspired!

  2. I know what you mean by the guilt factor, if not honey, agave nectar would work too,or any sweetener of choice. Make sure it's really blended well so the oil doesn't separate.
